the blouse and blazer are kindof big on me, but that’s life. in case anyone was wondering how kit looks when she dresses “professionally,” there it is.

Professional. Would you give her the job?

Looking for your first job & don’t know where to start? Here are some sweet tips to help you out!
By: Caitlin
First off you’re going to need a resume, now for those of you who like me had no idea how to write one there is plenty of ideas & help if you google it. My school also gave us a structure which you can also get at this link here.
Once you have your resumes print a good bulk of them out, its good to print out at least 20 & it’s good to particular place you plan to go so you have some kind of guide. Set a morning where you’ll go hand out resumes, if you were to be going to put resumes in at cafes that open in the morning you’d want to go at 8:00ish, before their rush. It’s very important the time you come in to hand in your resume as often they will take down the time you come in & judge that saying you’re most likely free at that time. You also need to make sure you don’t come in when they’re busy because they won’t want to deal with you if they already have enough on their plate, so take time into consideration when going to different places.
Wear something nice, but casual & simple when handing out resumes or to a job interview. If the place you want to work at has a certain style or standard I would recommend attempting to cater to that, particularly for job interviews. But for example when I was handing out resumes I would just wear a nice pair of denim shorts that are a suitable length and an oversize tshirt tucked in or a nice summer dress & sandals.
When you’re handing the resumes out or at a job interview it’s so, so important to smile! Smile, smile, smile! You need to use excellent manners, be kind, happy & bubbly; because they’re not going to hire someone who’s grumpy. Eye contact is also very important, you need to make enough to give the sense that you’re confident but don’t go staring them down because that’s just weird & creepy.
Good luck to you all on your job hunting & feel free to chuck us a question about anything if you ever need to!

Some useful job hunt advice.
